China Town Yangon

The Chinatown of Yangon was created when the British expanded the city in the 1850s. It lies between Shwedaungtan Street on the west and Shwedagon Pagoda Road on the east. The northern and southern borders are the Maha Bandoola Road and the Strand Road. Most of the Chinese live in this part of the city as which forms a town of their own. This is the place to go for street food in Yangon; outside seating, bustling local life and a boozy night scene. The Maha Bandula main stretch is also one of the busier for street food in Yangon. The area varies from with street food from delicious shan noodles and fried street foods to insects and cooked innards. Again, to be safe, eat where the locals eat.
