Mingun Bell is the world's biggest ringing bell. Although The Kremlin Bell, which is located in Moscow, is actually bigger, it is cracked and is not in use. It is said that King Bodawpaya dedicated a big bronze bell near the Mingun Cedi that is on the west bank of the Ayeyawaddy River and face Mandalay. Being dedicated to the unfinished pagoda in 1808, the 90 ton bronze bell was made on an island in the Irawaddy. They had to wait for a high tide to float it on a barge via a purpose of building canal to its current location.

The Bell was made of bronze; but it is said that Buddhist devotees inserted gold, silver ornaments and jewellery into the bronze. It measures eleven cubits and four rounds in diameter at its mouth, and weighs 55,555 viss (or 90,718 kilograms or 199,999 pounds).
