Long Son Pagoda

The restful atmosphere in Long Son Pagoda

Long Son Pagoda was built in 1963 with some other names like White Buddhist Pagoda or Dang Long Tu. The name is due to Long Son Pagoda’s long-lasting history with Buddha statue sitting atop of the mountain. Fortunately, the pagoda has been recorded as one owning Vietnam’s largest outdoor Buddha statue. As solemn and stillness as it is, Long Son Pagoda is situated on an elevated area with crowded streets covered in greenery. There are blocks of buildings including institutes, offices, and the massive temple.

One of the highlights of Long Son Pagoda is the 1,6m high, bronze statue of Buddha sitting in lecture, which is told to be 700kg.

After visiting inside, travelers can climb up about 200 stairs which leads to Trai Thuy Mountain. This is where pilgrims go sightseeing and worship.
