North Vietnam at A Glance: Halong Bay & Sapa 5 days

Day 1: Hanoi - Night train to Lao Cai

The tour guide from BestPrice will pick you up at the Hanoi railway station from your hotel at 21:00 so you may board an overnight train to Lao Cai. This type of transportation is favored for the Hanoi - Lao Cai route. It's a fantastic approach to take in the outdoors in a different way.

Morning

As scheduled, we will reach the Lao Cai Railway Station between 05:30 - 06:00. Reaching the Northwest countryside of Vietnam, you should take a big breath to fill your lungs with fresh air. 

After that, we'll go uphill in a bus for an hour to reach the charming town of Sapa. You can relax or take in the stunning view of Sapa from the bus window at this time, immerse in fluffy clouds and admire the beauty of mountainous regions in the early morning.

Before the trekking trip gets started, stop by your accommodation in Sapa town to drop off your large carryings and savor a light breakfast. 

Once your batteries are fully charged, our local guide will pick you up at the hotel to begin your trekking adventure.

Trek 6 km along trails that lead to Lao Chai village, a hidden gem in Muong Hoa Valley where you may interact with locals and discover more about the Black Hmong and Giay cultures. 

You can catch a glimpse of the untamed and picturesque Y Linh Ho village at the base of the slope which is approximately 3 km from here. Surrounded by lovely terraced fields that have been there for a very long time, the scenery of this place is absolutely breathtaking. 

After relaxing, enjoy a prepared full course meal of Northwest Vietnamese cuisine. 

Afternoon

Now fully recharged, we set off towards Ta Van village, a nearby settlement hidden in a misty cloud, which is the second destination on our trekking route. Its massive terraced fields and wooden homes add to its rustic appeal. 

Our exploring tour includes a special experience which is walking through a rattan bridge. These are truly unforgettable moments you can't find in the city zone.

After touring the distinctive villages, we hike back to Sapa town and check in the hotel. 

After a strenuous morning expedition, you can unwind for the remainder of the day to rejuvenate yourself before starting your evening in Sapa Town with street cuisine or a performance by native people.

Before beginning our second day of trekking, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the hotel's relaxed ambiance and go through the check-out process. 

The hiking trail is lighter today. Travel to Cat Cat village, which is about 3 km from the town, and see the magnificent waterfall and the hydroelectric power station that the French built while they were colonizing Vietnam.

Afternoon

As you trek to Sin Chai village, the breathtaking views of Fansipan Mountain will astound you. Spend some time taking in the stunning landscape and the surrounding area's natural beauty. Make sure you snap some photos to commemorate this unique occasion.

Following an exhausting day of hiking and sightseeing, you will be picked up from the main road between 14:30 and 15:00, driven back to Sapa town, and then transferred to Hanoi (around 21:30).

Unwind for a while and be ready for more adventures.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and take in the pristine morning. 

Please finish checking out so that we can pick you up for the worldwide famous Halong Bay at approximately 08:00 - 08:30. 

It takes 2,5 hours on the highway to get to the cruise pier

As you arrive at the waiting area, process check in procedures. To begin your Halong Bay tour, transfer to a speedboat or tender. While you're on the tender, enjoy scenic islets on the green sea while the cruise manager gives you an overview of the bay and your route.

Getting on the cruise, you receivea warm welcome from the staff with a delicious drink, then listening tosafety instructions from the welcoming captain and staff of the Halong Bay cruise. 

At lunch, a scrumptious seafood meal is served for you. After a delightful culinary course, passengers will have a brief break before we start our afternoon itinerary.  

Afternoon

The activities will be up to each cruise's schedule, you might have a chance to join kayaking, explore caves to view magnificent stalactites, or get acquainted with fishermen at the floating market. 

Go back to the cruise to unwind and test your culinary prowess by making Vietnamese spring rolls in the chef's cookery class. Happy Hour, which offers "Buy one get one drink," is from 17:00 to 17:30. During this period, you can enjoy a beautiful evening beneath the bay sky. 

In the evening, passengers savor wonderful meals at the restaurant on board.

After that, engage in nighttime activities while on the trip, such as playing board games, watching movies, going squid fishing, or just relaxing with a drink at the night bar. 

Morning 

If you wake up before 06:00, you could join the Tai Chi class. Join this active session to relax and rejuvenate yourself while also taking in the clean, pure air of Halong Bay.

After a light breakfast consisting of Vietnamese tea, coffee, and pastries, guests can explore Halong Bay with thrilling water sports including kayaking, caving, etc.. 

Return to the boat, get ready to check out, then have brunchas cruising past the stunning rock formations on your way to the port. After bidding farewell to each passenger, the captain and the cruise staff board the tender to arrive at the port.

Around 11:30, we board the ship; our transfer will be waiting to take you back to your Hanoi Old Quarter hotel.
